I am working as a translator with focus on finance and law in a small team of excellent translators. We translate contracts, articles of association, prospectuses of investment companies, market analyses/reviews, financial reports, press releases, as well as various marketing material or training material in power point. I started out with English and Italian, but already in the first year I took classes in financial French to be able to work with French as well. Today, I'm translating from all three languages into German. My work requires many skills and flexibility: Sometimes I'm working on a project alone, so I have to work independently, organize myself, and manage my time. However, this is not always the case: we also work as a team. Some projects are divided up between multiple translators to make sure the deadlines are met. In this case, it is imperative that we communicate constantly to guarantee consistency, and organize ourselves as a team to work efficiently. And of course we almost never work only on one project at a time, which requires, again, time management and organizational skills. Ever since the merger of Wordstation GmbH with Lemoine International GmbH I have added project management, handling the whole project cycle from the first contact with the customer to delivering the final product.

Directly after graduating I joined Linklaters to collect practical translation experience in finance and law. I was mainly translating into English. Furthermore, I refined my skills of how to maintain and update glossaries in MultiTerm.
