Romain Lecomte

I’m part of the Order Management System (OMS) team in Veepee. Our daily job is to design the new pipeline responsible to register customers orders and drive the delivery of those orders. We design our platform to have a really good availability (SLA). In this way, our business logic is splitted in multiple autonomous services. We also choose to use an event sourcing data model : This help us to design a self-recoverying system and to keep track of all events happening on orders. We do our best to provide a good observability on what is going on in our system. Improving metrics, alerts and business oriented reports is an important part of our daily job. I work in a team of four peoples in an international context, mainly in France and Spain.

TabMo is an advertising company which build his own programmatic platform “Hawk”. I joined the company as a Scala developer to help the young platform to grow. I was in charge of API design and features realization. I worked everyday with UX designers and product peoples. Another task was to help young developers to improve their skills. With more than twenty services, we needed to keep things clean, easy, secure and efficient. We use Scala technologies like Play framework, AKKA HTTP and AKKA Stream for API implementation. External tools are extensively used : Auth0 service are used for security layer, Logmatic for logging purpose and AWS provided us IAAS and PAAS services. I worked with around thirty peoples, mainly in france.

Working as a service provider for Volkswagen, my job was to build and maintain the “Audi connect” product. I was in charge of provide new features and fix issues on the online services. I was also a trainer for “Valtech Training” institute about DevOps practice. I worked with about fifty peoples in an international team.
