Simulation modelling of the decontaminating Violet robot using ROS2 and Gazebo. 12 weeks internship

After a 6-month internship at DessIA during which I developed new mechanical components for the company's Python libraries, I'm continuing the adventure within the bots development team as part of a work-study program for the end of my mechanical engineering degree. This work-study program fits perfectly with my desire to mix computer science (algorithms, AI) and mechanics (design): two fields I am passionate about! This hybridization will be present in my missions in company, but also in the teachings that I follow at the UTC. My new missions concern the automatic and intelligent generation of casings for mechanical systems, the creation of a method for the placement of mechanical components in 3D space, and the improvement of our geometrical modeler volmdlr.

Implemented the bevel gears (including including straight, zerol, and spiral teeth) and all the knowledge associated with our mechanical components library. Implemented sizing, generation and optimization methods in order to generate mechanical power transmission systems integrating bevel gears. Implemented a precise geometrical representation, including the detailed representation of teeth.
