Decathlon is one of the world's largest sporting goods retailers, offering a wide range of products and equipment across numerous sports categories.

In the Data Business Unit (~500 persons), I worked in the Data Factory team, in charge of managing the data platform.

My main missions were:

Migrating processing jobs on from the former data plattform (Redshift / Talend) to the new one (Spark / Databricks / Airflow) Streamlining and standardizing the technical stack of the data platform, focusing on software engineering, processing, CI/CD, and orchestration tools. Defining and promoting best practices (code quality, development patterns, development and deployment processes, CI/CD workflows, etc.). Developing code templates for Decathlon's main data processing technologies: Spark, Scala, DBT, Python, Airflow, etc. Templates used by all teams in the BU (More than 600 projects instantiated) Maintaining the processing and orchestration platforms (Databricks, Airflow MWAA) and offering support for the main technologies (Spark, Airflow, Python) Leading the training and technical onboarding of data engineers (designing and delivering technical training sessions on Spark, Airflow, dbt, as well as functional training on the data platform overview)
