Experience
- InterpolData architectPUBLIC SECTORMarch 2019 - July 2025 (6 years and 4 months)Lyon, France2019 – The Data Architect, INTERPOL, LyonPart of the architecture community and Architecture Review Board in a TOGAF type of organisation I review projects and consult on data architecture. I am responsible for the meta data management and architecture of the Hadoop data lake. I support the Unified Information Model at Interpol effort and have implemented a modelling environment of modularised OWL2 capable of building very large models (100s of classes, 1000s of properties and 10000s of axioms). Data from the Interpol RDBMS is integrated into RDF via my application IDES (Interpol data extraction system). This offers a very flexible and productive solution. As part of the project a reference ontology was built from standard (UMF,UN,etc) tables generating 10000s of reference classes.Documentation of the full model is automated to produce LaTex/PDF,HTML and JSON/SQL/XML translations.I also do data science with Network X and build analytical RDF databases for specific crime analysis such as terrorist networks and arms trade using Tika, Spacy, openCV, vector analysis etc. Ontology alignment/analysis with other models.I specialise in graph visualisation and have built good capabilities to support my work via various JS libraries and yEd. Data warehousing using DataCubes for multidimensional analysis.I consider myself a Python expert but have many years of Java experience as well. I also mentor the data analysts/developers at Interpol in data science/semantic technologies. Linux only expert. Latex expert.
- university of london, birkbeckPostdoc researcher in semantic systems, dep computer scienceEDUCATION AND E-LEARNINGJanuary 2017 - January 2019 (2 years)London, United KingdomI am delivering a semantic data cross disciplinary project for the UK Arts Council, “Mapping Museums”; seehttps://museweb.dcs.bbk.ac.uk/aboutapp , http://blogs.bbk.ac.uk/mapping-museums/people/ .I am responsible for architecting, installation of OS and operations, full stack development of web system, database installation, data architecture, automatic translation of conceptual data architecture models to RDF/S,automated workflow ETL process covering all data sets, automatic deployment of web architecture to virtual servers on the DCS farm. Delivering a full TOGAF ADM cycle in one person as well as maintaining requirements with the Arts department. All programming is done in Python and Javascript. Technologies and software used are GraphML, yEdit, Flask, Virtuoso triple store, Leaflet,Bokeh and various other Javascript libraries. The project delivers a rich and deep model with ~50 attributes per museum and links to ONS postcode and deprivation data to answer the research questions. Emphasis is on generic solutions to automate conceptual models of hierarchies, lists, intervals etc and making these models visualise by introspection in the web application views.
