Hi, I’m Maya, a Backend Software Engineer with infrastructure and cloud experience, and an active open source developer.

Backend Engineering for the Web - Optimizing platforms with service workers, caching, and native web APIs for speed, performance and resilience.

AI Project Rescue - Fixing broken AI generated or low-code/no-code projects, replacing hacks with solid engineering. I remove vendor lock in, cut token costs, and make your app production and scale ready.

Cloud + CI/CD - Building stable backends (Node.js, FastAPI, etc.), scaling them in multi-cloud environments, and streamlining deployments with CI/CD.

Reduced infrastructure OS upgrade time from 40 mins to 5 mins for downstream engineers by connecting them to upstream Golang workflow
Built easy to customize Python code that reduced deployment upgrades from 50 mins to 10 mins
Maintained, scaled and decommissioned cloud infra across AWS, Azure, GCP, & French Cloud Companies (OVH, Orange).
Led static and runtime audits of an internal organization-wide Golang CI tool, pinpointed the root of persistent mid-deployment failures in downstream teams risking major outages, prompted formal review and process rescoping to align tool usage with intended scope

Led software development for an innovative digital museum platform - as a result, the platform had a publication.
Led technical direction and engineered using MySQL, Express, React, Node.js as well as leveraging unusual PWA/Web API strategies for supporting Indigenous remote users
Managed tech team, liaised with museum curators/designers and led Agile sprints
Release cycle went from 1-month manual production deployments to 1 day by introducing CI/CD (AWS CodeDeploy, EC2, Travis CI)
Set a precedent at the institute to bring in AWS services after months of back and forth and oversaw $10,000 for migration which led to the above improvements in release cycle as well as more storage and stability for the platform
Platform attracted partnerships with museums in the UK, Germany and Canada
