Malaika Michelle Rodriguez

I am a multidisciplinary fashion and textile designer with experience in fashion product development, textile design, printmaking, and surface design, helping brands create thoughtful and well-executed products. I hold a Master’s in Contemporary Fashion Design from IFA Paris and a BA (Hons) in Fashion Textiles from the University for the Creative Arts (UK). Alongside fashion design, I also have professional experience as a Graphic Designer, creating digital and print media for fashion brands, NGOs, and creative organizations.

A key part of my work is print and surface design. I develop textile prints through both handmade and digital techniques, often creating prints by hand and later refining and digitalizing them, as well as designing prints directly through digital methods. My work includes repeat patterns, placement prints, and textile graphics for garments and textile products.

I believe in creating original and thoughtful prints, drawing inspiration from primary and secondary sources while transforming them into designs that are unique and not directly replicated. My focus is on developing prints that feel distinctive, authentic, and creatively refined. I take a holistic design approach, connecting fashion, textiles, prints, and graphics to create work that is visually strong and cohesive.
