Louis Sommer

I became a web developer in 2019 after attending Le Wagon during summer 2018 (batch #177 in Paris). Being a professional music producer and touring musician, I now embrace a hybrid freelance lifestyle, living by my two passions : building and maintaining complex web applications, while performing music at the highest level.

While teaching code for two years at Le Wagon, I've worked with companies from all sizes and organizations. I built and still maintain a big internal application for L'Oréal ; I've worked as an acting CTO, rewriting codebases and optimizing performances for a few startups (mainly Lyanne and Aktio). Lately, I've also worked as a fulltime employee for close to a year with RCRDSHP, a Web 3 company led by Obie Fernandez (famous Ruby on Rails advocate, author and engineer), in a distributed team of 12 developers, many of which are active maintainers on major open source projects (Stimulus, Stimulus Reflex, Acidic Job and others).

I'm also an open source enthusiast and have contributed to some open source projects (mainly the admin gem avo), and built my own, abyme (see links below). I also love writing about code, although I don't do so as much as I'd want !

Fun fact : I have worked in the past with artists such as La Roux, Charlie Winston, BB Brunes, La Grande Sophie and Thomas de Pourquery.
