About Jean-Michel

Paris ESCP Europe Business School education and three and a half years spent abroad made me efficient in international environments (whatever working with actual or virtual teams), and at ease with several languages.
Till 2009, I played a business transformation consulting role for both IBM external (mainly Banking) and internal (IBM Global Financing) customers (using issue-based consulting-, project management-, process re-engineering-, impact studies- and package selection techniques).
From 2009 to March 2014, I was part of a large IBM acquisition integration team (ILOG SW editor) from a WW Finance perspective, during pre-and post-Transfer of Business. I then played a financial controller role for this integrated entity within IBM France R&D (Responsible from a Finance standpoint for 200 people and 29 M€ budget). From April 2014 to Aug 2019, I've been, on behalf of IBM Global Financing), responsible for setting up the internal control compliance framework of the unit vs the Banque de France regulatory requirements.
In addition to these competencies and functions, I started a successful individual technical translator freelance ("auto-entrepreneur") activity in April 2011 and decided to dedicate my time expanding it after retiring from IBM in Sept 2019.
I gained from my IBM consultant career a deep understanding of IT, General business, and Finance issues, as well as an acute interest for the evolution of these areas, and for customer satisfaction. My passion for languages and international contexts was a powerful driver to succeed as a translator and reviewer.
I’m also, since July 2020, Finance Deputy Mayor for my hometown Plaisir in France (32,000 inhabitants, 80 M€ budget).
