 Scientific evaluation: Review scientific papers, reports, and research proposals related to ecological science, ecotoxicology, and environmental risk assessments.

 Risk Assessment: Assessed environmental risks of pesticide contamination in Mediterranean coastal ecosystems. Conducted controlled laboratory exposures of C. aestuarii to dimethoate to evaluate sublethal effects.  Designed and managed closed-circuit exposure systems simulating environmental contamination scenarios.  Lipidomics: Performed lipid extraction, fatty acid profiling, and analysis of lipid classes (e.g., neutral lipids, phospholipids) to assess biochemical responses to contaminant exposure.  Histological analysis and genotoxicity assays.  Measured oxidative stress biomarkers (catalase, SOD, total antioxidant capacity) using biochemical techniques.  Environmental Data Analysis & R Programming: Performed statistical analyses and modelling in R (ANOVA, t-test, Tukey & Dunnett post hoc tests, correlation). Created visualizations (barplots, boxplots, PCA, heatmaps, chord diagrams) to support interpretation and publication.  Ecotoxicology: Linked pollutant-biota interactions to subcellular and functional impairments through mechanistic analysis of oxidative stress responses, histopathological lesions, lipid metabolism disruption, and DNA damage.  Scientific communication & publication: Authored scientific reports and peer-reviewed publications; presented findings in national and international conferences.

 Ecosystem services: Contributed to the assessment of pesticide threats to aquaculture species, highlighting the vulnerability of filter-feeding organisms such as the Pacific oyster (Magallana gigas) to anthropogenic pollutants.  Genotoxicity: Evaluated DNA integrity in M. gigas hemolymph using the comet assay to assess the genotoxic effects of dimethoate.  Ecotoxicology & Physiological Assessment: Conducted survival tests to evaluate physiological parameters.
