The aim of this year within the British Oceanographic Data Center was to quality control and archive in a secure storage Total's datasets. Data was current, wave, wind, tide, CTD and motion platform measurements. This work was mainly to recover Total's data and to tranform data from various format (.txt, .csv, Excel, .mat, etc.) to BODC standards (NetCDF). Data was converted to match with BODC vocabularies (ex : wind direction converted to "relative to Geographic North", conductivity measurements converted to BODC standards, etc.).

"Comparisons metocean measurements vs. hindcasts" The objective was to evaluate the quality of hindcast models databases available for Total. First, in situ measurements were listed and selected for the study. Therefore, statistical comparisons were done in order to determinate the best hindcast model for winds, waves and currents used for oil spill and design criteria studies.

"Eddies formation and advection along French Riviera" The aim of the project was the understanding of meteorological and oceanographic conditions responsible of the formation and advection of a whirlpool along the french riviera coast. For this purpose, a hydrodynamic model was used, providing current and wind fields.
