About Aiman

I am a Postdoctoral researcher in my fourth year of my post-PhD work specializing in computational modeling, lighting, imaging, color appearance modeling, psychophysics and chronobiology. Currently, I am pursuing a postdoctoral project with INSERM, Lyon on the topic: Influence of light exposure on the sleep quality of night workers.

I am at ease with Python, R and MATLAB coding environments with a recently acquired fluency in data analysis using Machine Learning and advanced statistics.

Proficient in computational modeling of human vision and tasks related to it. Expert in hyperspectral image acquisition, treatment, calibration and analysis.

I have teaching experience of +3 years in Radiometry, Colorimetry, Color Science and Hyperspectral imaging. I also give conferences to public/private enterprises on either of my subject of expertise.

A study involving a light-booth with a maximum of 135 cd/m2 shows a significant improvement in spectral and photometric accuracy of the spectral data using HDR techniques. The sRGB image quality also improves significantly. The HDR merging method using a mean or median value of valid pixels also significantly improves results as compared to the first correct pixel. The results from this study provide a promising outlook for the use of hyperspectral imaging in poorly lit scenes and should be further investigated.
